We squeezed out one more full day and night on this beautiful island & nature reserve and decided to leave tomorrow early hours only as we have less than 10nm to our final destination.
My attention was caught by one more very short gravel road running through the centre of the island. While chatting to a nice local Swede, I learned some insights about the island: 91 permanent inhabitants, 30 cattle & 5 moose versa 10’000 tourists during summer. Plenty of birds and beavers, no rabbits.
Härmanö, a nature reserve as old as me, founded even before the UNESCO nominated its first World Heritage Sites back in 1978.
What a marvelous spot, we shall be back next spring.
