There is no doubt, that Skagen is an outstanding location within Denmark, so is the biking within this area.

My morning ride took me out to Grenen as I was eager to explore how far I can get along the beach with 45mm tyres. Not bad even without adjusting tyre pressure from road to gravel.

There are many Klitplantages in Denmark, mainly on the westcoast of Jutland and the northshores of Zealand. The oldest one dates back to 1726!

The photo below from the afternoon ride gives an impression on the plantagen area on the right side to defend the land against the predominantly westerly winds causing the drifting sand. About two dozen of Klitplantages have been created in Denmark. Skagen was one of the later ones. Land protection and economical development going hand in hand.

However, today it offers some of the unique landscape and a tremendous recreational area for hiking, biking and horse riding.

This insane summer keeps us going…

Fair winds…
