My initial expectations were moderate but the Torghatten is not just another tourist attraction – rather a pretty massive & mystical hole in a major rock formation. Besides that, it offers nice views to both sides of the tunnel.
Access and infrastructure are set-up to cover the peak season tourist streams well known by the locals. I have met five of them and two dogs.
Trygve confirmed to me that I can bike around the rock and decide from which side to hike up the last bit to get to the pinhole. I took it by the status of the sun.
My initial expectations have been dashed, not only because of the perfect gravel section around the rock but also by the overall beauty of Torget island.
A memorable ride to an ice age relict.
Fair winds…
